Valves are the
machine or device used to control the flow and pressure of solids, liquids,
gases, and semi-solid substances within a system. Valves are commonly known as
regulators which are used in a wide range of applications. Valves are
categories and it is depended on certain considerations. Here are some types of
valves used in the industries and they are.
Plug valve:
Plug valve is designed in
quarter-turn rotary motions that are used to stop or start the flow of with the the help of a tapered or cylindrical plug.
Plug valve is fixed at the gate valve and operated quickly it is used to
service in high-pressure temperature.
Y-strainer:
Y-strainer is a mechanical device used to remove unnecessary liquid, gases, and steams. It is
used to protect pipeline parts such as pumps, meters, stream taps, regulators,
control valves, and other devices. It is also used in large straining
applications to protect the downstream process system and it includes
petroleum, chemical processing, marine, and power generation.
Butterfly
valve:
The butterfly valve is also in
quarter-turn rotational motion used to stop and start flow that is mounted on a
rotating shaft. The components of the butterfly valve are body, disk, stem, and
seat. The advantages are easy and fast to open, inexpensive to build, require
less space, and less maintenance.
Check valve:
Only fluids are
allowed to flow in one direction it is consists of two ports one is inlet media
and the other is output media. It is known as a one-way valve as it flows only
through in one direction.
So the valves
are used in many fields and used to control flows. It is characterized by lower
recovery confidence. They can regain very less static pressure and a high
recovery coefficient. There are kinds of valves and they are the globe valve,
angle valve, ball valve, pinch valve, and so on.
